The Clive Cussler museum – a big surprise! When I read about Clive Cussler, nationally known author, having a car museum here in Arvada, I thought it was just a garage with a few cars behind his house. Boy was I surprised when Rob and I finally visited his museum on 69th and Indiana. There were two large rooms that were decorated like a fancy garage. Hub caps lined one wall and license plates on another. There was also Cussler memorabilia and copies of his books spread out in various places. The Cussler Museum is really fascinating place to visit.

When my husband told me he could start a blog on life in Arvada, I was excited! He loves to write and I love to do things. This meant that we’d have to partake in fun events in order to write about them. Now that our kids are older and weaning us, we have more time on our hands to check out some of the many things that are going on in Arvada. So first on my long list, I wanted to go to Primo Vino’s wine tasting Friday Night. I recently bought a $10 Groupon for $20 worth of wine and discovered that Primo Vino was conveniently located in the heart of Olde Town Arvada right on Olde Town Wadsworth!

What?! I missed the Clive Cussler Collectors Society convention!?! No one told me about this convention. It’s my own fault – well, not entirely. I am still remorseful over the fact that I’ve never visited the fabulous Clive Cussler Museum in Arvada. On May 9, 1996, the Rocky Mountain News ran an article about Clive Cussler and his collection of classic cars in an Arvada warehouse. How exciting! Clive Cussler, author of Dirk Pitt adventures among many other famous novels, has a home and museum… right here in Arvada Colorado.
